Design and manufacturing lab final project. Machined components using lathe, mill, and CNC. Gained experience in the fundamentals of design process, dimensional tolerancing, and manufacturing.

Designed and manufactured a robot that can collect, sort, and dispense tennis and golf balls.

Design Process

Learned and executed the design process. Sketched out the concepts; selected optimal subsystem designs using decision matrices; created models in SolidWorks; cardboard prototype to validate the concept; machined the wheel hubs using manual lathe and mill; bent and welded sheet metal parts; ultimately assembled and tested the robot.

Created a comprehensive design report that documented the entire process of this project.
